So we had a week with 3D modeling, and it was quite enjoyable. Well.. when we were finally sculpting... i have to admit it was too much talking to my liking, but i learned some stuff nonetheless.
There is quite a resemblance ;)
Next was relief's. I liked this part, and i think i had an okay knack for this stuff.
Model: an old drawing
In the making
Skull was a bit tricky. Went okay though
The red string
a visuel graphic novel
Teachers - Ari, Sophie and Tom
So my inspiration was from a comic I once read. Several actually. I've seen the red string legend in a few works, but I wanted to do my own take on the matter. So, making the red string become my "red string" in the story, i needed a moral. "the grass is always greener on the other side" is a good saying, and since i adore bittersweet stories, I thought it would supplement the red string legend beautifully.
My thumbs, together with dialouge
I played with some textures, tried to get a grip of coloring since I've always had a hard time with that. So of course i needed a bit of inspiration.
Nine inch nails always has some hauntingly, amazing songs and i really liked the images that emerges from this video.
- Nin - it all fades
I wanted something of the same atmosphere... I know i could have done a better job at capturing that, but time was of the essence. I did'nt get much sleep that last day... so it'll have to suffice.
The finished result
note: the cutting of the string, should have had more impact. It's should be emphasized more, when it's such a significant event.
Hope my story was understandable and enjoyable :)
Visual storytelling

So before we started making our actual "Love-story" comic, we had some weeks of graphical story telling-bootcamp. Here we learned about compositioning, character interaction and depth, creating fonts and simplifiyng stories and messages and so much more. It was a very insightful mouthfull and i learned alot about how to tell a great story, without making it unstructured, and at the same time, maintaining the complex meaning of the plot.
I like that. I really like that.
Here are some examples of my process with the learning of dynamic effects and mood.
This one was actually made on a misunderstanding, but i kinda liked how it turned out, so i'll show it anyways ;)
Several times, we made comics. Small ones that is, made with effort ofc.
This one was based upon the theme of "love" and a "dark mood" - (and almost horror like atmosphere).
Its about a woman, shinning brightly amidst a trail of unknown people that are cloaked in grey. From afar, a dark figure looms, watching her. This guy is the main character. His figur is shown as a black silhoutte, before blending into the crowd of people.
He walks through a brooding city, making his way home to his lonely, creepy appartment, that feels almost as balefull as himself.Whilst strooling throug his hallway, he makes a sinister smile while looking at the woman he shot pictures at before.
In the end, he goes into a room filled with darkness, and turning on the light switch, we are shown a room that is brimmed with pictures of her - The white lady - And while filling up the room up with light, she feeds his menacing smile.
This last page became a bit uncomplete.
Pink Panthers Ass
So this was something that was created, as part of an exshibition of sorts, wich ended up in a raving party (that i did'nt even attend)...

My first 3D model self-protrait. A little flat, but you gotta learn.
Christina as my next target. Still a bit flat.

Abominations, wich i assisted in the making of.
To be honest, this event did'nt do anything for me. But i guess its fine to try something very different once in a while...
The great show of "Potlach"
So we had this awesome event we were supposed to produce something, a show of some sorts. After pin-ponging some ideas, we eventuallt settled with a theme revolving around spirits and indian spirituality. well... deffinetly something about spirits.
Poster made by cat
I was in a group that focused on Totem-animals, and which spirit would be a representative of each individual. We would take pictures, photoshop 'em and cut'em out into giant posters that would be on display at the show.
Here we are, cutting our posters. Hella'offa lotta work.
Examples from the display
And something from the show, just to sum it all up.
Croquis and studies

What lies beneath
Teacher - Iben
Here we had to make a drawing that was inspired by mind-mapping and a recited sentence about what was important to us.
The
drawing wasn't supposed to resemble anything of known origin (well, if i
understood it correctly?), but it kinda reminds me of a tree. In some
weird manner that is.
Biological abstraction
Teacher - Iben
So here i had to make an abstract drawing of something that didn't really make sense.
Well... I certainly think i succeeded in the later.
It is indeed different.
